For Adolescents

Oh boy, where to start. Being an adolescent is perhaps one of our most challenging periods of life. From our bodies’ transitions to our changes in mood and our caregiver’s reactions towards them, it creates tension among family members. Distinguishing between good and bad friendships, loyalties, and exploring love and being heartbroken are at times at the root of acting out, or feeling hopeless.

Therapy is often times a space of reconciliation between teens and caregivers and a space to process life changes that are typical for this age.  From a teen perspective, it provides him/her/their a space to explore identity challenges while starting to explore a sense of “who I am” and “who would I like to be”. It also allows the teen to find ways to improve communicative skills and a sense of empathy. In addition, therapy is a space to think our presence in social media and develop an understanding of private and public aspects of self.
