Adults

Adults

When we are little, we wish we grow up fast and become adults… without knowing what adulthood is about to do to us. From unsolved things in childhood that hunts us, to conflicts in romantic, work and life relationships, we often experience symptoms of anxiety and depression. If we already have a mental health diagnosis, triggers and ruptures often precipitate us to act out or be dysregulated. Often times we think we can handle it… until we can sleep, our health is impacted by our nervousness, and our relationships with others and ourselves start to feel like they are falling apart.

For those who are looking to process these experiences and generate a healing narrative of their lives, therapy is an opportunity to share in a safe space our fears, secrets, and symptoms. It is a space for pause, in the middle of a world that is asking us to move faster and more distant while connected by the use of our phones and social media. Therapy becomes also a place to find what works for us, and process the experience of let go what has not. It is a place that substitutes at times the excess of drinking, eating, smoking, working, and all the other mechanisms that we have tried in order to feel better.
